The Freke Arms - Swindon

Very welcoming, although we were busy and adaptable when our plans changed. I stayed overnight in my home and the place was beautiful, saw some red kites flying over the van at a point and a heart of brains on the track. Great place and eating was delicious.

I must say that the Freke Arms has really improved for the better. It used to seem a bit worn-out, but it looks much fresher since the change of ownership. I ordered the rump steak, and it was cooked to perfection. Our only critique was that the combination of steak, ale, bacon, and Stilton didn't quite come together as we'd hoped. The presentation of both meals could have been cleaner. Overall, the menu is excellent, and the price-to-quality ratio is impressive. The staff were very attentive, and we will definitely be returning.

The service was exceptional and the food was delicious. The adult portion sizes were generous. The children's menu was also impressive, offering large portions. There were great dessert options available, though unfortunately, there was no vegan selection.
