White Spot - Surrey

I went there for a nice meal but all I got was rotten service and poorly cooked food. I ordered the halibut- sorry sir we're out of that. Okay so i order the fish and chips- fish was over battered and undercooked. I was also lied to by the staff- asked for a window seat inside- and there were people seated in that area- Oh no, sir, they're just leaving and the area's going to be cordoned off. I came back later and the whole area was full of customers!! And I wasn't going to give a tip for the crummy service I got but the machine the gave me added a tip automatically. Not going to this dump ever again!

Used to go to this White Spot Restaurant (Central City Surrey, BC) often but Oct. 22/20 will be the last. After being served a coffee and piece of pie by Shawna – (and not even offered a coffee refill) – Shawna sends over Manager Melinda when I was ready for my bill. When I asked Melinda for a box for my pie – I was shocked how she stomped off while yelling back at me I am not getting you a box. She then comes back to my table and justifies her rude outburst by blaming me – telling me that I was rude to her staff ever since walking in their door. I knew this was an absolute lie – and that is why I typed all the boring details of what happened inside your restaurant ‘prior’ to my dealings with Manager Melinda (see original complaint). But there is NO reasoning with unreasonable people that play the blame game to protect their job. So after rudely yelling at me – Melinda disrespects me again by informing me that her and waitress Shawna were gossiping and complaining about me. I placed a written complaint on line, adding that I will NEVER go back there again as long as Melinda works there AND I MEANT IT. So on Oct. 23/20, Sarah Kumar calls me not to apologize but to tell me I was disrespectful and she was prepared to give me a list of instructions on how I was to treat her Staff in future. I hung up on Sarah after explaining that I already wrote in my complaint I will never return (I stay clear of gossiping drama queens that are miserable and abusive). The ignorance of these women is mind boggling. This restaurant is going downhill especially since it reopened after Covid Lockdown. I noticed with a couple of the new staff (Melinda included) that the service is shoddy. Don 't go there alone you will be dumped on by miserable people and when they lie you will have no witness.

The white spot was our place to go since 1959, t hey served the best food and even in the last few years could order take out and never disappointed until the last two years. theire food is not tastess, menu has changed, apparently you have to special order evrything like triple O sauce, i cant believe how dreadful it has become.. this iis n ot the restaurant we have known and enjoyed for over 60 years!!

We only had breakfast here, and we asked for the Senior's Menu, which is quite limited. But, even the Senior's breakfast is generous. My husband had 2 pancakes w/ a side of bacon (4 slices , and I had a poached egg w/ Canadian bacon over a single English muffin (eggs Benedict! and a side of potatoes. Both breakfasts were very tasty and well prepared, and were about $10/each. Coffee was extra. And both breakfasts were big enough that we had to go back to our hotel and have a nap to sleep off the food coma.

We went to thise restaurant many times last year while our prolong stay in Surrey remembering how everything was perfect but not this time. The food was served cold, fries soggy , wait time forever, even takeout for our son was given cold/waited additional 15 minutes to be cooked/, will never visit again
