To start off, I must say that it had been a while since I last visited a Red Lobster. I hadn't felt the need to go since Angry Crab closed down. However, my wife and I decided to give it a try one day around 5:00. The restaurant wasn't very busy, so I was optimistic. Despite that, the hostess seated us at a table near the restroom, where the strong smell of urinal cake was quite off-putting. I tried to ignore it as we placed our order with the waitress. My wife ordered shrimp, while I opted for the fish and chips. As we waited for our food, I managed to swat three flies. Unfortunately, my fish was bland and the fries were soggy. The only highlight was the coleslaw. My wife wasn't too impressed with her shrimp either. It was a disappointing experience as we had hoped for a good meal. We'll probably stick to Angry Crab in the future.
I went for corn-chowder that I might have had a month ago and it was the best soup I've ever had!! I was told they never had corn shears? Okay? I had Clam Chowder and Salad, regular house salad. Both were good. Not great, good. And for some reason the little cookies they taste you really bake Soda y. I think I just said that. But there it is
This place offered a great experience for my family and I on a random Monday night. The restaurant looked relatively slow, but we were there to celebrate an 18th birthday, and obviously many other groups also had their own birthday parties. A nightmare scenario for each server. Our server was Ben and he was fantastic. Very patient with us, as we tried to get the children into the food selection and to be very satisfied with questions and substitutions. You can get food everywhere, but a great experience is harder and harder to come.
This evening, the general manager Kathleen took my call. She is going to reimburse me for my soup and both steaks. The steak that was supposed to be medium well was served raw, and the well done steak looked overcooked. Additionally, the 32oz family soup was only a cup in size. I confirmed my order twice, but it was still incorrect when it arrived. The server insisted that it was correct, but Kathleen acknowledged the mistake and said it would be used as a training opportunity. I hope that by posting photos, I can accurately show what I described to Kathleen. I was grateful for her understanding and prompt resolution of the issue. Kathleen handled the situation with professionalism, and I appreciate her efforts.
