Buddha's Surf Resort

Buddha Surf Resort is a great place to stay off from the waves of Siargao Island. We arrived at the resort on a rainy afternoon and we were accommodated immediately by the staff. After some conversations, they led us to our room. Their bathroom is one of the most spacious I've ever tried. Hot and cold shower are available. For some reason, the television wasn't able to pick up some local channels, as well as the cable connection due to poor reception in the entire island. As a remedy, the management has provided a hard drive with almost 50 movies you can watch during your stay. For dinner, we tried their Yellow Curry and Chicken Satay that led us to order another serving of rice because we really enjoyed the spices used to flavor the Thai dishes. Staff were very accommodating and attend to us every time we need their help. It was just sad that we needed to leave the resort on a rainy morning to catch the ferry back to Surigao City.

We came there to eat a good breakfast because we just arrived in the island.. good food.. very nice staff and they got a cool dog.. will probably be back..

Buddha has such a warm and welcoming feel to it. Go out of your way (which I doubt you will have to) to meet the owner, Ashley, he is an incredible guy who will go above and beyond for you. The staff are so friendly and you are greeted with massive smiles every morning. Also go to Sugba Lagoon and island hopping if you have time, both are so stunning. We were meant to stay for a week and ended up missing out the north to stay 3 weeks here so think that says enough.

If there were more stars, I would give them. We have traveled to many countries and islands and this is the first one I can honestly say that has resonated with us. It was an incredibly humbling, beautiful, restful, adventurous, peaceful yet exciting experience. The management were always there to answer questions, very helpful, patient, and accommodating. Everyone there down to the surf instructors were just awesome people. It was the most chilled place we've been it, authentic and nothing superficial. Food was so so good. We will definitely be back hopefully for a much longer time. We miss you all, Mattiece misses Reeve especially. Thanks Chris for making our time there spectacular. xoxo JO
