Contribuiți la feedbackI just had to taste El Pescador. My brothers and I came every year for sea fish from April June. As a sport fisherman, I want to say that we know our seafood. It was about 5 years ago, but this restaurant was a must for us. The Ceviche is the best I ever had. I would always boil the snapper or grouper in parchment / foil absolutely fantastic. I'm sure the rest of the menu is just as excellent. We were in Puerto Juarez and I don't remember the taxi price that was exorbitant. A must!
This seafood restaurant is located in the heart of Old Cancun on a small side street with locals, students and tourists alike. The service was very good, friendly and all languages English. My husband and I tried to start the fish and the shrimps. Both were fresh, served with homemade salsa and crisp chips. My husband had Red Snapper in a garlic sauce. You have the choice of the whole fish or have filled it. He chose the latter and did not hit bones! I chose the garlic shrimp. I was presented with 10 beautiful butterfly shrimps, grilled to perfection in their shell. Both ducks were served with a baked potato and a small assortment of mixed vegetables on our plates. We shared a flan for dessert. Unnoticed, but delicious. The restaurant is very cheap, especially for fresh seafood. You really get a feeling for the real cancun or the real Mexico in this place in this picturesque, local neighborhood. We took a taxi from Le Meridien Hotel, near JW Marriott and Ritz Carlton, for Appx. 170 Pesos or Appx. It's about a 30-minute drive. Our taxi driver, Marco, went to the restaurant and then came back for us.
I just had to chime in on El Pescador. My brothers and I used to come for the sailfish runs from April June every year. As sport fishing enthusiasts, I'd like to say we know our seafood. My husband and I tried the fish and the shrimp ceviches to begin with. Both were fresh, served with homemade salsa and crisp chips. My husband had Red Snapper in a garlic sauce. You have a choice of the whole fish or having it filleted. He chose the latter and encountered no bones! I chose the Garlic Shrimp. I was presented with 10 beautifully butterflied shrimp, grilled to perfection in their shell. Both entrees were served with a baked potato and a small assortment of mixed vegetables on our platters. We shared a flan for dessert. Unremarkable, but tasty. The restaurant is very reasonably priced, especially for fresh seafood. One really gets a feel for the real Cancun or the real Mexico at this place in this quaint, local neighborhood. We took a cab from Le Meridien Hotel, near the JW Marriott and the Ritz Carlton, for appx. 170 pesos or appx. $17.00. It is about a 30 minute drive. Our cab driver, Marco, walked us to the restaurant, then cam back for us as well.
The food was great! The staff is friendly and attentive. Very clean place. Plates averaged $13.00. Try the parrilla shrimps.
