Mellizoz (now Located In Cruzteca)

I highly recommend the Mellizoz team to everyone! They provided absolutely delicious food that everyone raved about at our wedding. The team communicated wonderfully and delivered a fantastic product at an affordable price. I would definitely suggest hiring Mellizoz for future wedding events.

This is a charming little restaurant with excellent food. It’s independently owned and has a warm, inviting atmosphere. Highly recommend!

I visited this restaurant on a Sunday and absolutely loved the experience. Everything was fresh and delicious! I started with some incredible guacamole, and the chilaquiles were phenomenal. The house-made jalapeño garlic salsa was so good it brought a tear to my eye, especially when paired with the fried potatoes on the side. The only downside was that the charro beans were a bit bland, but everything else contributed to a fantastic breakfast experience. I highly recommend checking out this newly renamed Austin Original!

We ordered four tacos (the shroom, the padre, the slowrider and the del mar). The fish on the del mar was overcooked and dried out. All the tacos were underwhelming. We also had the bacon queso fries which tasted old and reheated.

Since my trip to Austin 4 weeks ago, I have not stopped talking about how good the tacos from here are. I was only in town for 3 days, and I ended up eating here 5 times. It was the first thing I ever ate in Austin ever and it was the last right before leaving. Coming from Colorado, I honestly expected a similar type of taco to be presented to me which was small and somewhat bland, only being flavored by the toppings. To my surprise, I got the opposite. I ended up starting with The Slowrider that I am convinced had a half pound of braised beef in it that had more flavor than any other braised beef I've ever had. The cotija and cilantro complimented it perfectly and when I was done, I instantly went to order another. In the 3 days I got more slowriders, The Old School and The Padre. All equally amazing and packed with flavor and portions. Price wise to me was also pretty great given the amount of food you actually get per taco. I get the same prices here for 1/3 of the filling. The service to me was also great as they would bring out your food to your personally and always were friendly and able to make modifications to your tacos as you seem fit. The setting was the typical food truck scene with picnic tables out in front with decent shade from trees and rain with a smaller parking lot out in front making parking a bit easier if you can get a spot. I really can't wait to eat these tacos again, and I highly recommend the same to anyone else passing through the area and looking for a quick bite.
