Contribuiți la feedbackThis was the first time I had an authentic Indian thali in US. The food was delicious and was not too oily or spicy. The servers made sure we had what we wanted.
Mostly Indian people eating there which was a great sign from the start. We've had a lot of Indian food before and all the adults in our part have been to India. This place is definitely true to how Thali is made and served. Having waiters come around refilling is exactly how I had it in Bangalore. They told me that two dishes weren't vegan so I ate a lot of everything else. Amazing.
There is only one thing on the menu: a thali, They bring you a large metal tray filled with smaller metal dishes containing curries and soups as well as other items, such as roti and pakora. Each of the dishes has a unique flavor and was very tasty. They then have a number of waiters walking around, each refilling some set of the available dishes if you wish. I found the experience personally a little disrupting as we were being constantly interrupted to know if we wanted more of this-or-that. I would have preferred if they simply had a buffet and you could take what you want with less interruptions; it would probably be a cheaper way to run the restaurant, as well. I'd go back, though, because the food is really quite good.
A tasty, authentic Gujarati restaurant. The service is impeccable. The friendly waiters are courteous and keep refilling your plate with ladles of yummy side dishes. All the curries are vegetarian. Only a couple of dishes (raita, kadhi) are made with dairy. The rotis are light and melt in your mouth. And the curries are delicately spiced and not floating in oil and cream as in some other Indian restaurants.
The all-you-can-eat meal includes 3 to 5 curries, rice, roti/puri bread, and soup. For non-vegans, there are a few extra curry options, along with yogurt and dessert. However, I found the curries to be quite oily, the puri bread to be tough, and the selection for vegans was limited. Additionally, the price of $25 per person (including tax and tip) seems high considering the quality and the vegan options available.
