The Shebeen

I visited The Shebeen over the busy Heritage Day long weekend. I had made a booking through Dineplan a week prior to my visit, but when I called on the day of my visit, I was informed that they were not taking Dineplan reservations as it was offline. However, Richard, the host, was able to find space for us. The Shebeen is a South African Breweries initiative that aims to provide a township experience, so do not expect imported beers or beers on tap. Due to the Rugby World Cup, there was a limited menu available. We tried the Chisa Nyama, which was excellently prepared, and the kids' burger was actually a generous portion and very tasty. In celebration of Heritage Day, there was live music, although it felt like it only catered to a specific demographic. If you are seeking a true township experience, the music selection should have represented all South African music, not just one type. Overall, it was a good experience and I would recommend it when visiting Sun City.

I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. The food was incredible, the music was great, and the outdoor ambiance was perfect.

The food is delicious, the drinks are refreshing. This restaurant is a lovely spot for a reasonably priced lunch.

What an amazing atmosphere watching the semi-final against England and the Boks!

We had an awesome time and we're blown away by the fantastic food and super friendly service (James was fantastic). We loved playing pool and really enjoyed the true African vibes coming from the super cool digital jukebox. Highly recommended!
