I don 't care as long as it 's clean which it is.<br/ <br/ SERVICE: <br/ Good considering one woman was running the entire show. We had to wait a bit to get our beverages and dessert but no big deal. <br/ <br/ FOOD: <br/ I had the lunch buffet. Not overly familiar with Thai food but I like curries and hot chiles/spicy dishes and today 's visit did not disappoint. Build your own lettuce wraps/salad bar is very good enjoyed trying all the hot sambals (all of them homemade). Buffet also features some 'generic ' Chinese entrees (sweet and sour pork, chicken with bok choy) for those not into Thai food. <br/ <br/ We shared a coconut ice cream (homemade) for dessert. Refreshing and not overly sweet with a texture reminiscent of cream cheese or goat cheese. Knocked the chile heat out (I was sweating profusely by the time I finished the buffet dishes).<br/ <br/ All in all I enjoyed my visit and would recommend this establishment.
As of July, they stopped doing the Friday night buffet. I 'm half Thai and I love going here to remind myself of my other side. Susan (who is the owner and ONLY chef) works hard everyday and tries her best to get food out quickly and tasting as good as she would serve it to her own family. I enjoy her Yum Nam or Beef salad because it 's a dish that means a lot to me and her cooking is just as good as my late great grandmother 's. Her cooking isn 't the 'Thai ' everyone is familiar with because everyone is familiar with the Bangkok cooking style. Each part of Thailand has different styles of cooking. Each part has different seasoning, spice, herbs and cooking methods. Susan 's cooking is more southern Thailand and uses the cooking recipes that her mother has taught her. How do I know? I talk to her. I listen her story instead of being a stuck-up who comes in and demands their food like their king of the castle and they want it as soon as they order it! Susan is very kind and caring and she 's lots of fun to talk too, even if you don 't understand her, she means well. As she 's cooking your food, she makes sure that 's its well-seasoned, has enough meat or vegetables, and hot and ready to eat. You should never judge someone by how slow they cook because when they take their time that make sure it 's right.
This place and Thai chili are my favorite Thai places in Sumter. Much better than Thai house (and better prices) the green curry is the best green curry I've ever had. The place may not look fancy or up to date but the food makes up for it. They are also now open on Sundays which is a big perk! The staff is also very friendly.
Good food. They need to update the decor. People might be turned off by the look. The air is a little stale which can also turn away customers. If this place was cleaned up a little I think it would do great. The food is very very good.
Ive recently developed a love for Thai food..so I search for the best Thai. Ive been all over Vegas and St Louis and this is one of the better Thai restaurants. I ordered from menu because I dont enjoy buffets it rui s quality of food. I got drunken noodles with tofu asked for extra spice and it came out hot and fresh on top the staff was wonderful.
