Okina Sushi Burrito - Sugar Land

Was at First Colony Mall and needed to grab a bite from the food court, came across a friendly woman at this sushi burrito/sushi/poke stand! She offered me samples of the California Roll and I went with the California poké bowl (pictured). I am a big poké fan and for a craving, this hit the spot, and at a good price point $6-7. The serving portion was just right and ingredients tasted fresh. The spicy mayo and crabmeat were really good together. It was packaged/presented neatly which was nice. Overall, while this isn't the best poké I've had, for a mall food court fare, it beat my expectations and the service was great so I'll be back!

I really wanted to like this place. I love poke and I was excited to see a sushi restaurant open in the First Colony food court. I tried the Ocean Supreme Bowl; while the toppings were plentiful, the quality of the ingredients was subpar. It wasn't awful by any means, but it just tasted very bland. The only thing that had any flavor was the spicy mayo sauce and that cannot carry a whole dish by itself. I would only recommend this place if you were stuck at the food court and poke/sushi was your craving that day. I hope the owners read the reviews and take it as constructive criticism so they can up their food game. Despite my negative review, I would really like for them to succeed since they said it was their first restaurant. If they're still in business in the future, I would give it another try. :

I have tried the salmon and tuna bowl. Both are not bad. It's good from what you expect out of a mall food court. They sometimes put too much of the sauce which I don't like. But the size and the price (around $7.95) is good to have a quick bite at the mall.

I absolutely adore this place! I can't believe I didn't visit sooner. Every time I come, there is usually only one staff member working, but they always provide fantastic customer service, earning them a well-deserved tip. I have tried various poke bowls including salmon, tuna, and crab, and they were all delicious. However, my favorite is the salmon for its rich, buttery flavor. I was pleasantly surprised to find such a great sushi spot at First Colony mall. The sushi rolls, like the Shaggy Dog and California roll, were also fantastic. I appreciate that each dish is made fresh to order, showing the dedication of the staff. Prices range from $6-$12, but the quality of the food makes it completely worth it. This is definitely the best sushi place I have ever been to.

I recommend checking the freshness of the ingredients before placing your order. We ordered tuna yesterday and it had a bad odor. When we attempted to return it, the staff argued that it was fresh. Unfortunately, we had to discard it as we didn't want to take any chances.
