Contribuiți la feedbackWhen we arrived at the shopping center, finding parking was a breeze. There was a large iron table outside, perfect for enjoying pastries outdoors if the weather cooperates—unfortunately, it was quite overcast during our visit, so we opted for takeout. The gentleman who assisted me was incredibly friendly. He tipped his hat as he greeted me, which I thought was just the sweetest gesture. He was welcoming, patient, and answered all my questions with such kindness. The interaction was one of the best service experiences I’ve had in a long time. I almost wanted to give him a big hug on my way out, but my hands were full with all the delicious baked goods I bought! Here’s what we tried: - Cheese Danish ($3.49) - Cherry Danish ($3.49) - Apple Danish ($3.49) - Carrot Cake ($4.99) - Honey Cake ($4.99) - Napoleon Cake ($4.99) - Chocolate Chip Cookie ($1.99) The Danishes had a slightly stale edge, but their flavors and fillings were delightful. I think warming them up would enhance their freshness. The chocolate chip cookie was to die for—huge, with generous chunks of rich chocolate, perfectly crispy on the edges while remaining moist and chewy. It truly was cookie perfection! The cakes were on the smaller side, which I appreciated. Three of them fit comfortably in a standard takeout container, with a bit of extra space. You could indulge in a slice without feeling weighed down afterward—well, unless you’re like me and left home with an entire bakery's worth of treats! To be fair, we didn’t eat everything in one sitting, but even sampling five different items is quite a lot! The carrot cake was simply amazing! It was warm and spiced to perfection—like a decadent hug. Moist and topped with delicious cream cheese frosting, it didn’t look as appealing as it tasted, and I'm so glad I decided to get it. It was easily our favorite! The honey cake was a nice surprise. It was a unique offering compared to traditional cakes, with light, airy layers and a delightful honey flavor. While the carrot cake was the standout, I highly recommend trying the honey cake, as it’s something you won’t find in many places. The Napoleon cake had great flavor, but I was expecting a crunch in each bite. The layers were quite soft, making it tricky to eat without utensils, which surprised me—it seems it was meant to be enjoyed that way. Still, we enjoyed it despite the texture difference. I guess that's why it's called Napoleon CAKE; I shouldn't have expected crunch! Overall, Rivermill Bakery is a charming little spot—no pun intended. You can tell it’s a small, family-run business, which I truly appreciate. Even though it’s quite a distance from our home, I can see us making the journey again in the future, especially if we’re nearby. Make sure to check out this hidden gem! I'm already looking forward to our next visit!
I just purchased six cupcakes for $20, and unfortunately, they were terrible. We couldn't even eat them. The icing tasted like it had been frozen and then thawed, or perhaps the cupcakes had been refrigerated for far too long. The icing definitely had a strong refrigerator flavor. Overall, it was not a good experience.
Exceptional bakery! As someone who lived in France as a child, I am a big fan of croissants, and these definitely deliver if you're a fan of authentic European-style pastries. The value and service are fantastic as well!
Beautiful, impeccably clean cafe with outstanding fresh, home made bakery and excellent coffees. It is family--owned and run with care and pride. Service is excellent and we had a wonderful experience.
Everything about this place is excellent! The staff are super friendly, coffee is great, and pastries are amazing!
