My son devoured the full English breakfast with obvious enjoyment, while the rest of us loved the homemade soup and jacket potatoes. The cheese scone that came with the soup was outstanding and the coffee was top-notch. The service was friendly and efficient. I even came back later to pick up some desserts we couldn't finish the first time. Highly recommended.
During our short break in Yoxford, we stumbled upon this hidden gem of a restaurant on our first day. After a challenging time recently, dining here truly lifted our spirits. We enjoyed it so much that we returned for breakfast on our last day. The highlight was the huge slice of lemon cake we brought back for our daughter, who absolutely loved it!
After reading the fantastic reviews, I was disappointed and felt unwelcome. Our group consisted of 4 adults and 3 children, ages 15 months to 5 years. We visited the cafe for a family lunch yesterday, but we quickly realized we were not wanted. The cakes and pastries looked delicious, but the owner/chef made it clear that we should leave. Fortunately, we found a welcoming place at the Kings Head and enjoyed a great lunch there.
Chef Gina and Thalia are so welcoming and friendly. There is a constant stream of background music accompanied by Thalia which gives the place a happy feel, with plenty of reading material for every taste. Soups, cakes, scotch eggs are excellent as is everything served by Gina and Thalia.
As soon as you walk in and see the fresh cakes, you know this is something special! The two lovely ladies running this place make you so welcome and have a great menu. Homemade Vegetable Soup, accompanied by an incredible cheese scone should have been enough really! However you know when you think you might still be hungry and ordered a tuna melt panini, well there are very generous portions here, so just be careful, as you may need a sleep after this amazing food. A good selection of fresh food, proper home made cakes and even a gooseberry crumble for dessert, if you hadn’t already feasted so well. Thank you to our hosts, would be there everyday if we lived there. But we’ll be back.
