Contribuiți la feedbackI have dined at this restaurant before and it is always a great experience. However, on this occasion, I was on a strict diet and unable to eat most of the food. Despite this, my partner and daughter wanted to eat here so I reluctantly agreed to join them. When we sat down, my partner and daughter placed their orders but I was informed that there was a minimum spend of £10 for adults. Feeling disappointed, I decided to leave as I did not want to sit in a restaurant that was not accommodating to my dietary restrictions. In the end, we ended up going to the restaurant next door which offered similar quality food at a much lower price of £7 compared to the £17.95 for one meal at the original restaurant. It was a pity that we had to leave, but it was not worth paying such a high price when there were more affordable options available.
A group of 21 of us had planned to pick up food from this restaurant to eat by the sea, but due to the dark weather and the empty restaurant, we asked if we could dine in. The group consisted of people wanting a full meal, a light snack, or just a drink. However, we were informed that there was a minimum fee of £10 per person to sit down, even if someone just wanted a drink. Despite the restaurant being empty, the owner insisted on this fee. Feeling disappointed, we considered going elsewhere. The owner's abrasive behavior further soured our experience, and we decided to leave without ordering. While I cannot comment on the food, I can say that the restaurant does not seem to be vegetarian-friendly, as their only veggie option was a halloumi hummus burger served with non-vegetarian chips. We ended up going to the Boardwalk Cafe on the pier, where we enjoyed fantastic food, reasonable prices, and delightful staff. My recommendation would be to choose the Boardwalk Cafe over this restaurant.
This restaurant is worth a visit for its large drinks and tasty dishes. I am originally from the North where parmo is a popular dish, and I must say that the fish parmo here is a 10/10. I had jalapenos on mine, while my partner had blue cheese on hers, and both were delicious. Everything was cooked perfectly. I always chat with the owner, who used to work in Whitby and brought the parmo recipe with him. The staff are friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend this place and will definitely be back.
Used to be a good value for money, but now it is much overpriced. as on earth can treat a young family today to these trips fish and chip. we had a takeaway, but at £24 for lrg cod n chips. twice with tom sauce, it was really not worth this amount. I do not say that eating is bad, I say it is not good, it is nice, but it is more for older or retired people with disposable income. harvester is the same price with free starter salad to eat and her fish is beautiful. I'm sorry, fish dish, I won't pay it back on principle.
Family of four, got seated, opened up the menu and I was prepared to walk out at that point but my wife didn’t want to cause a scene, this place is too expensive! I couldn’t quite believe the prices. I haven’t been ripped off like...that in a while, wouldn’t of minded so much if the food was incredible but nothing special, I’ve had better fish from the chip shop on corner by Mannings and that’s a fraction of the cost. If you do go here just take away, don’t sit in or you’ll need to contact the bank for a loan.
