1530 - Suffolk Coastal

Sunday night in the seckford hall. good value for money, a night including dinner/breakfast and use of spa. beautiful environment and next to seckford golf course (pay and play). seckford hall is a beautiful building, very atmospheric with quirky haptik. with such an old building they do not expect perfection! some areas need attention to bring it to a four star status. a few problems with our assigned room that were immediately solved without fuss. personal attentive and friendly and service in general good. menu imaginatiw, portion size more than sufficient and quality/presentation good. good atmosphere all around.

We were april for two nights. the area is beautiful and covered with spring flowers, there are also hiking trails around the hotel, which is surrounded by fields on a quiet track. the staff are polite, friendly and working hard to ensure that their stay is a happy one. we forgot to book our second night for dinner so that a table was set up for us in the lounge where we had brilliant service. we had the seckford room full of furniture from the 16th century. the bed was a four posted, but with a modern, comfortable mattress. we enjoyed our short break in this beautiful part of suffolk.

Very pleasant visit. have also stayed here and really feels like a trip back to the medieval days. air con generators can be a bit loud for some of the rooms and the bathroom decoration is not really in tune with the ära or actually modernized on a standard they would expect. eating is excellent, the rooms are comfortable and the grounds are extensive and interesting with some beautiful gardens a beautiful lake and courtyard in which to have a drink. the wellness area must be refurbished, as the sauna and the “Gym” are very old, but the pool is a good size clean and perfect temperature. I would recommend seckford hall for a visit.

Beautiful hotel in beautiful, quiet and well maintained plots. our four poster rooms was an unexpected bonus. did not sleep so well in the old! great bar dishes and a nicely cooked breakfast. the staff was friendly and helpful. I look forward to a return visit.

Met here with friends to celebrate the 80th birthday of one of them. Beautiful unspoilt setting which, thankfully, has not given way to modernization. Beautiful oak panelling etc and even a suit of armour to greet you at the door. We sat in the courtyard to consume a cream tea with tea, coffee, and a glass of bubbly. The waiter who served us was very polite and attentive. We had a lovely time in a lovely setting. Would thoroughly recommend.
