Contribuiți la feedbackThis evening we decided to eat here. The food is delicious. Also good food and much options for vegetarians! :
We were in Stuttgart to attend a concert, and needed somewhere near our hotel to eat beforehand. We really love Asian food particularly Vietnamese so this seemed like a really good choice. What a disappointment it turned out to be. To be positive: the pleasant outdoor seating area was perfect for a hot summer night. And the Saigon beer was deliciously icy. That 's why it gets a two star rating, rather than one. Unfortunately I cannot offer any positive comments on the food, other than the fact that the spring rolls were OK if rather large and distinctly heavy. Unfortunately the main courses were a disaster, and bore little resemblance to Vietnamese food. If I had to describe the cooking style, I think I 'd have to go with 'anonymous Asian ', using some Asian ingredients to produces dishes that don 't belong to any particular culture, and aren 't particularly successful. In particular, the dishes were very heavy on soy sauce, but with virtually no discernible fish sauce and an absence of herbs (coriander, mint, basil) which are the signature flavours of Vietnamese cuisine. Everything seemed rather mushy (like chop suey from a poor Chinese restaurant), and lacked the fresh taste and crunchy texture that make Vietnamese food so delicious. The satay pork skewers were particularly disappointing, as the peanut sauce was oily and horrible. Oddly enough, the only dish that nearly worked was a 'special ' of beef chunks wrapped in vine leaves and grilled (a bizarre Vietnamese take on dolmades), which at least deserves credit for creativity. Service was adequate but nothing more than that. At 70 euros for two adults and a child (including two rounds of drinks), it wasn 't particularly good value either I wouldn 't have minded paying that amount for a good Vietnamese meal, but unfortunately this wasn 't. Avoid unless you 're very hungry and/or have no choice.
Now called Restaurant Le. I used to Eat there at least once per week. Food is very good and authentic. Tran and Tiva the owners are very nice. My girlfriend feels the same. I usually get the deep fried big Springrolls and #48 Chicken with vegetable in yellow Curry w coconut milk. Excellent! Lunchtime is a super bargain! I moved away but have not found a restaurant with this great of food or value yet! Best Asian food ever!
This is a nice vitnamese restaurant. The pitty is that it is a little of the beaten track, so usually it is quite empty and you do not have any problems finding a table. I am definitely recommending this restaurant.
We went to this restaurant with a couple of friends and our kids. The restaurant is nice, the people are very friendly and the food is very good!! At the end we received a very good warm Pflaumenwein. I just can recomend it.
