Tan Lac Vien Vietnamese Bistro

Tiny place and while they have a sizable vegan menu none of it was too appetizing. The spring rolls were ok and the veg pho. But the veg chow fun and veg yellow curry noodle were quite bad, the veg yellow curry noodle was dry and didn’t have any tofu. I also got a soup spoon with a weird looking piece of meat when I asked for a spare spoon and this really made me lose my appetite. The restaurant itself was not too clean and I think that is a theme with a lot of restaurants in Pittsburgh which is sad. Overall I would not go here again.

MY FAVORITE RESTAURANT IN PITTSBURGH! I love the bun bo hue with extra bok choy. It’s $3 for the bok choy but so yummy. ‍‍‍

We only do take out from TLV. The vermecelli is amazing; we often do the pork and vegan bun but ask for all tofu instead of seitan. Not a huge fan of their seitan huge pieces and sort of not fried enough for it to by yummy in a vermecelli. The food is always ready on time, all the front of house staff are polite and transactions are smooth without any sort of socialized pressure tipping with your check. I think this remains the best vietnamese in town; we've eaten trams and the sisters place (now closed but was in E. Liberty), i mean, lucy's banh mi is the best on earth, but for a meal with many different dishes TLV remains our GO TO.
