Gennaro’s Pizza - Strip District

Visiting for weekend and had a desire for meatball sandwich. Good my son and I split it as it was huge and super delicious. We'll be back.

My favorite pizza on the South Side. Me and all the girls from the nail boutique love them. All the workers are always so kind and professional.

I been ordering from them for almost 3 years now never had a problem until the other day there was hair on my pizza me and my family was eating that pizza but I didn't realize until later that day going to get another piece I'm jus done with them I know things happen but never again will I ever spend my money there again ?

We were in town this past weekend for the Pink concert and stopped in for a quick lunch on Saturday. I was skeptical walking in but everyone was “hangry” so I caved. So glad I did….the food completely exceeded our expectations. The pizza was amazing, my fiancé loved his burger, and my Mediterranean hoagie was truly the best I have ever had. I am vegan and, more often than not, someone messes up my order but not this time! My granddaughter’s slice of pizza was missed but, when she asked about it, she was rewarded with an entire small pizza. Such kindness and excellent customer service! Wish you could be in Rochester…..you would have me and my family as steady customers! Thank you! I don’t normally write good reviews for restaurants but I couldn’t pass this gem by.

I have been going to Gennaro's pizza for the past 7 yrs. I almost always order the chicken ranchero hoagie w extra meat. It used to be my favorite thing to eat in the southside. I would order twice a week at times. The hoagie used to come with big chunks of chicken and they used to put plenty of it on especially when I ordered it with extra meat. Sometime during covid they started completely skimping on the quantity of chicken on the hoagie and if I would ask for extra chicken like usual they would just chop it up into smaller pieces and not put any extra Chicken on the hoagie they just put more fries on instead. And it then becomes basically just a carbohydrate bomb. They took advantage of my business and maybe they were upset that I was ordering too much and felt like they were losing money or something I don't know but they changed their bread also which now becomes super dry when baked Cuts your mouth when eating it. I gave these guys so much money over the years and they rewarded Me by skimping on my hoagie. I would tip them well and everything these guys just don't value customer service or their customers in general. I would recommend going to slice on Broadway everyday of the week I won't be eating at Gennaro's again.
