For reference, my husband is 6’5 and that burger made his hands look small. The burger was perfectly done and juicy. The steak could be cut with a fork. The most impressive part of the meal is the gravy. Only restaurant I have ate at that you could 100% tell the gravy is made from scratch just like your grandmother made it.Mary talked with us as we were leaving and she’s such a kind person. Absolutely deserved to be on the bucket list and now we have checked it off our bucket list, and we will be back.
First time here in about 5 years. Well worth the 70 mile drive.
Waited an hour and a 45 min before we ever got any food ,meanwhile 5 other tables who came after our table got there food . Paid 16 dollars for a paper thin chicken fried chicken that was hard as a rock . And the rest of my party complained everything was dry .waitress was no where to be found the majority of the night and they stacked everyone in one room so it was so loud no one could have a conversation.
If you have not been go.. it's a Texas treasure.. Mary's Cafe should be on your bucket list. Bon Appetit ?
Fun place to visit! As seen on Texas bucket list! We were in the area and decided to stop in! Chicken fried steaks are huge! I like how thin they are! Like how much gravy comes out with dinner. Salad not my favorite...like it more leafy not shredded*Nice they bring dressing to table just wish salad on side was leafy* Decor plain not much on walls. Bought a t-shirt!! Will be back soon!
