The Throckmorton - Stratford-on-Avon

Excellent evening, from the moment we walked in we were greeted and advised table location, team member who served us was excellent, food outstanding, beautiful ambience. We will be back and highly recommend to friends and family. Thank you for a wonderful evening.

We stayed the night at the The Throckmorton, on arrivals we were greeted by friendly staff member who checked us in and showed us to our room, the room was spacious and clean. We ordered our evening meal, our started arrived and was lovely, unfortunately our mains took over an hour to come, after we checked it was delivered apparently there was a mix up with numbers, the staff were very apologetic and took our main meals off our bill. Food was amazing. Breakfast was also delicious, I want to thank them for supplying me with a dairy free breakfast. We will definitely be coming back. A lovely location, amazing food, fantastic staff. Highly recommended.

We decided to eat Sunday lunch at the pub with friends who were visiting us for the weekend. Two ordered starters two of us desserts. The sharing starter arrived for two had just started eating them when the main course arrived. We said that the starters had not long arrived but still the plates were put down. Three of us ordered the pink beef but found it very chewy. Rare beef cooked properly should be easy to eat. We told the waitress who collected our plates she said yes it is very often like that !! The dessert menu arrived 2 were ordered. In between more drinks were ordered also water for the table. After a long wait the drinks arrived when we managed to catch the eye of a waitress about the water she said there were no available jugs for the water, so we said can’t we each have a glass of water which eventually arrived but the water was warm. Again after a long wait we went asked where the desserts were they were bought out straight away. We can only assume they were waiting in the kitchen. The two hours we were there were not pleasant a experience we would have expected more from a well known pub. We spent in excess of £130.

Staying not far away for a few days and found this place after visiting Coughton Hall. We had Sunday lunch and loved it. Service was great really friendly and efficient staff, food was lovely and very reasonably priced. The general ambience and atmosphere is lovely. Highly recommended and will be popping in again before we go home. Lucky it’s not local to us as we would be in constantly! Compliments to the management and staff you’re doing something right!

We visited for a drink after visiting nearby Coughton Court, the food looked so nice we decided to eat too. The outside area was lovely and it was a perfect day to sit outside, lovely view and very comfortable. Our food was delicious and we were very well looked after , the service was faultless and the staff helpful and friendly. We hope to come back soon.
