Number 50 - Stratford-on-Avon

Good food pleasant surroundi gs lovely meetings friends and chatting.

We had an excellent lunch on Sunday at this, our favourite restaurant. It is consistently good and we have never had disappointing meal here. The service is as good as the food and we would recommend it unhesitatingly.

We have been to Number 50 quite a few times and it has never let us down. My wife is vegetarian, and the set menu isn't kind to vegetarians, it never has been... Generally a choice of one meal. But we have learned to ask, and the chef will always prepare something meat-free and up to their usual high standards.

In the area for the day , had seen the great reviews on trip advisor, the daily and Sunday menu looked very appetising, but the food on the day let it down. The pate, which must have been frozen, was cold in the middle and slightly wet and the roast potatoes were un palatable, as it was obvious by the taste they had been re heated, on mentioning their flavour to the waiting staff, the chefs excuse was , apologies he had tried a different variety this week.

I booked this for my partners birthday, took a chance as I not heard anything about it before hand. What a find,,, a superb restaurant for all the right reasons. From the moment we stepped through the door the service started, met with a warm friendly smile and treated like we had been there many times we were put at our ease and made very welcome. not hurried through but left to when we were ready, the menu choice was perfect. Through out the entire dinner service was superb and to top it all the food was excellent, a great choice of starters and mains added to which were the chefs specials which all in all made it difficult for me as I wanted them all. In short , a great restaurant that has got the ingredients to make you and your evening special, we will be going back.
