Henrys Bay House - Stranraer

Beautiful staff. nice eating. we crossed stranraer and stumbled on henrys and enjoyed our evening meal in the early evening!

Definitely a place to visit if you're in the area, we had a 3 course meal, predominantly seafood based and it was exceptional, some of the best I've eaten (Seafood pancakes were amazing, too good to not tuck in straight away, sorry no photo!! . Bit confused to be given chips and roast potatoes as well as veg but hey, gave me choices All in all highly recommended and staff were all lovely.

Recently met up with a friend here for dinner since we were in Stranraer briefly (en route to a funeral). Been at the Bay House several times over the years. Always found the food and service excellent, and if you go at the right time, good value! Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner

Despite their website indicating that dinner is served until 8 PM, I encountered a disappointing situation when I arrived at 19:45. I was informed that, in reality, they close at 19:30. This inconsistency is a significant inconvenience for patrons who rely on the website 's information. When I suggested to the employee that they should update their website to reflect accurate hours, their response was rather unhelpful: 'Our schedule is on the door. ' While this may be practical for locals, it 's hardly a useful solution for travelers or those not residing in the area who rely on online information. This experience left me frustrated and inconvenienced, as it disrupted my plans. I strongly recommend that they rectify this issue promptly to avoid similar disappointments for future patrons.
