The pork dumplings (10pc猪肉水饺) were overcooked, and the dipping sauce was dominated by a strong vinegar taste, lacking any other flavor. The roasted pork buns (3pc广式叉烧包) were mostly dough with just a teaspoon of sauce and very little pork filling. The only highlight of my meal was the cucumber salad in garlic sauce (拍黄瓜), which was quite enjoyable.
It's decent, but not worth the outrageous price. I recall when this restaurant offered better food at a lower cost. Overall, I would rate it as just okay.
The food was prepared nicely, but the seasoning was lacking. The bao, however, was enjoyable.
The owner of this restaurant is incredibly charming and knowledgeable. I've always appreciated the authenticity of Taos, but today was exceptional. We ordered Dan Dan noodles and cold sesame noodles, which weren't on the menu, but he prepared a version with tahini and cucumber that was delicious and refreshing. The Dan Dan noodles were perfectly garlicky, just as I had hoped. My friend couldn't stop raving about her beef cake. The highlight? The noodles are hand-pulled and cut. At $24, it felt like a true delicacy. Highly recommended!
The soup dumplings I got were delicious. You also have a very good milk tea! There are a lot of options on the menu to find something for dinner or a snack!
