Kismet - Stoke-on-Trent

We have been to The Kismet Hartshill many times this past year, with a work party, with friends and as a couple and always enjoyed it. We had booked a 'works ' night out again for 20 people last weekend but unfortunately our experience this time wasn 't great. The food was lovely but we didn 't feel we were looked after very well. 17 out of our party arrived but there wasn 't enough seating or place settings. Two of our party were virtually sitting on top of one another. We asked for another chair and table space but were told no, we asked for another place setting and were given a knife and fork, not enough cutlery for starters and mains. One member of our party was literally hanging off the seating and was clearly very uncomfortable. We asked 3 times for this to be rectified but it wasn 't and didn 't even receive an apology. It 's a shame but we won 't be booking again as the level of customer service expected just wasn 't there.

After hearing great reviews about kismet, I decided to give it a go for my birthday! Have to say it was the best Indian I have had for a long time, definiltey lived up to the reviews!

I ordered a tarka daal with my main meal, and I reminded the guy several times of this order due to poor service in the past. Despite this it still wasn't served with the meal. I ordered a drink three times and it never came. Take my advice and go to monsoon instead. Very poor service.

Comfortable stylish very welcoming, great menu fantastic choices. My only disappointment was the menu was difficult to read with the low ambient lighting where I was sitting, however I did speak to the owner who happened to be there and took onboard my only issue and thanked me and said he would try and address the issue. Great place it’s a jewel of the village.

We visited this restaurant a few years ago for an 18th birthday party and I wasn't very complimentary. The food was hot and very nice with lots of choice. Can I take this opportunity to thank the bar and waiting on staff who were all polite, friendly and very helpful. Serving 15 starters and main meals cannot be easy but they did a brilliant job.
