Bombay Chilli - Stockton-on-Tees

I placed an order at this restaurant and was initially told it would take about an hour. After waiting for an hour and a half with no sign of my food, I called the takeaway to inquire about the status of my order. They informed me that the food was out for delivery with a driver named Iqra and even gave me her number. When I called the number provided, a woman answered and claimed she had no knowledge of being a delivery driver. Frustrated, I called the restaurant again and was told that my order would be ready in 10 minutes. Two hours later, my food still had not arrived. It turns out that the restaurant had actually canceled my order hours ago without informing me and had been dishonest about the situation. This experience was completely unacceptable.

I have been dining at Bombay Chilli for a few months now, and I must say that the food is the best I have ever had. The spices, flavors, portion sizes, and quality of the chicken are all superb at this restaurant.

Have enjoyed meals from here recently so was looking forward to last nights takeaway. The chicken makhani was unexpectedly sweet mild but tasty enough. Not a lot of chicken though! The king prawn pathia sauce was excellent, hot spicy. However where were the king prawns? A few medium sized ones, but nowhere near enough to justify the £11.90 charged. The two of us finished the meal easily which is not normal, we’re usually too full to clean the plates! In summary tasty food but they need to improve portion sizes. Will look elsewhere for better value.

I have always been a loyal customer of Bombay Chilli and have always found their food to be excellent. I have recommended them to many friends and family. However, my recent experience with them was disappointing. I ordered a chilli chicken masala, a king prawn tikka masala, 2 mushroom pilau, and 2 naan breads, which cost me £30 plus delivery. Upon receiving my order, I was shocked to find that the king prawn dish did not actually contain any king prawns. After a heated argument with my husband, who called the restaurant to complain, they insisted that they had indeed put 4 prawns in the dish and cut them in half. This was clearly not the case, as there were only 2 prawns in my meal. Despite their attempts to rectify the situation, their lack of customer service skills and the overpriced king prawn dish have left me dissatisfied. I will not be ordering from them again. I recommend trying MOJA in Norton or Baltimore House in Billingham for Indian food in the area.
