Taverna Brillo - Stockholms laen

Visited Taverna Brillo with my wife in connection with a lovely weekend in Stockholm. We had booked a table for the evening and were allocated a nice table in the restaurant. The first thing we noticed was that there was a nice busy atmosphere. The kitchen was close by, and waiters came and went all the time. There was a bit of noise as a result, but it wasn't annoying. For starters we chose Antipasto misto, which must be ordered for two people. It was perfectly fine, but nothing more than that. If you order such a starter, there is always something you like and something that is not so exciting. But we enjoyed ourselves while enjoying each other's company, the flavors, the atmosphere, and a good wine. For the main course I chose Saltimbocca, which turned out to be a disappointment. I've never tasted this dish before, so it's entirely possible that it was cooked perfectly. For me it was simply boring, none of the flavors of the various ingredients stood out. In summary: Busy nice restaurant with nice waiters. The food is ok, but nothing more than that. Nevertheless, we were so pleased that we decided to come back for lunch another day and try something else from the menu.

We had a guest allergic to gluten, and found this Taverna. The staff was attentive, the pizza was great (including the gluten-free one). We were in good weather and enjoyed the small sidewalk seating. We plan to return!

We made a booking for a table for two, hoping for a relaxing romantic dinner. Instead, we were given an ' 'impromptu ' ' tiny bar table with barely room for drinks let alone comfortable dining, in the middle of the room, between 2 bars, in the most ' 'heavy traffic ' ' area, with people walking right past us every few seconds. The table was set there after we arrived and it felt more like they ran out of space so just flopped something down wherever. So while we were trying to keep our plates and drinks from falling off the tiny table, meanwhile having to keep our coats and purse from falling on the floor off our chairs (there was nowhere to put a purse down, for instance), we also tried hard to keep some appetite while someone walked right past us every 10 seconds. And I mean literally rubbing shoulders distance. For the ridiculously overpriced menu (Having an Italian grandmother and spending years in Italy, I can also vouch for the food being overpriced for what it was, even for Stockholm standards), one would expect a slightly more comfortable setting. I 'd only recommend this place to anyone else if everything else was closed. Either offset your prices with a great setting (yes, also for couples, even though they don 't bring in as much money as larger companies) or with incredible food, ideally both. They 're offering both at average, at best.
