I brought my friends here for a typical Swedish snack as I had read in several posts and reviews that it was one of the best pastry shop in the city. We were very pleased with their classic Semla; my friends tried it also in other places but they said that the one from this pastry shop was superior. The location is really nice, especially accessing from the entrance on Kungsgatan street. For us the break there was really pleasant, so much so that we returned a second time.
Very busy cafe, we visited around 3pm on a Saturday and the place was heaving, we struggled to find a seat after we had purchased our coffee cake. Would suggest you avoid this time of day on a Saturday. The coffee was okay, nothing special, the cakes were yummy though. My husband had the Princess Cake which he thoroughly enjoyed. I was happy that there were 3 or 4 choices of gluten free cakes, most places you are lucky to get one. I chose the Budapest Cake, which is a hazelnut meringue filled with cream raspberries. I highly recommend it.
Perfect place to stop for breakfast, brunch or lunch. Wish I had been thirstier/hungrier so I could have tried more of the options available. Loved the layout of the place, very impressive entrance for what is simply a tea room. Liked there were nooks and tables hidden around the place, giving a more private feel.
It is a nice place for some desserts, fika and coffee, after lunch or maybe for a sweet breakfast. Beautiful environment, good coffee, good desserts, but from the latter I expected more to be honest. It is on the pricey side in my opinion. The place also is self service. To my friends I described it as a “fast-food bakery-pastry but also gourmet but also self-service”. I hope that helps. I would recommend it for a sweet escape in Stockholm.
