It may be better to visit on a Wednesday at 6:00 PM. The Rib Eye steak exceeded expectations, not quite Peter Luger quality but still very enjoyable and well-marbled. The steak was cooked to perfection. The potato wedges were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The side salad was decent and portion sizes were generous. The Arctic Char fish was fresh and expertly prepared. The shrimp Risotto was decent. Overall, it was good value for the quality of the food.
There are not many steakhouses in Sweden that are worth visiting, and this is not just because Swedes are not fans of the idea that bigger is always better, or that louder is better! The main reason is the high price of beef due to strict regulations, health and quality standards, VAT, and the laws of supply and demand. I also suspect that fire department codes may play a role here, which I will explain later. At Jimmy's, the atmosphere is great - it's upscale but not snobbish, and you can enjoy authentic American-style charcoal-grilled food in a casual yet refined setting. The service is good, though a bit too chatty and overly personal for some. It's not really appropriate for a server to comment on a guest's food in a way that makes them uncomfortable. The open kitchen concept is appealing, as you can watch your food being prepared like a work of art. However, the quality of the meals can vary from one visit to the next. I have only dined for dinner here, not lunch, so my experiences are based on that. The meat quality at Jimmy's is excellent, but the charcoal taste is lacking - possibly due to safety regulations from the fire department. The rib eye is the standout dish, but the New Richmond Crown Veal and Broadway Joe Lamb Chops with goat cheese and garlic cream are also outstanding. The burger with goat cheese, however, is not up to par - it tastes strange and is not competitively priced. If you must have fish at a steakhouse, try the Southwestern Tuna Fish with hot ginger potato salad for a unique fusion of flavors. While Jimmy's may not be the best steakhouse in Stockholm, it still offers good quality and value for money. Its weakness lies in the lack of a strong charcoal flavor in the meat.
