Contribuiți la feedbackLocated in the busy square in front of the Nobel Prize Museum in Gamla Stan, travel writer Rick Steves bills this cafeteria-like restaurant as the best and cheapest in the area. While there is a short menu from which to order hot foods, there is a glass case of already made foods like open face lox and egg salad sandwich $9.50) which is what I chose. Additionally, I picked up a cardamom bun $3.50) and self-serve coffee/tea $3.50) with free refills. From the outside, Grillska looks small with not too many people outside, but the inside is fairly large with the ability to seat many people in its three rooms and a line of people waiting to order food. When you get to the counter, pick up a tray, your utensils, napkin, and self serve water. When it's your turn, you can order a specialty coffee drink or other beverage and order already prepared food from the display case. When you get to the cashier, you can order from the hot menu. Find an open table inside or sit outside. Not only is the food attractive, but satisfying. When you are done eating, bus your table by placing your tray and dishes in the rack located across from the WC.
#1 for lunch in the Gamla Stan. Confirmed too many times. For 87 kr you may choose from soup, main course and special salad. The salad buffe, drink and bread in included in the price. The salad buffe is one of the richest I ever seen in this town, great selection! Not just boring tomatoes, cabbage and cucumbers. The menu for the week one may check on the Stadmission web page, as it belongs to the Stockholm Stadmission network and help people in need in Stockholm. This way the lunch is even more tastier, when you know that it serves a special purpose at the same time. Take aways are served are served very nicely and you may have a luxury lunch even from the box. Very positive and friendly personnel. My biggest recommendation lately!
One of my favorite places that I found during my visit to Stockholm. The lunches are delicious and very reasonable. I had one of their baguette sandwiches and it was marvelous. The ingredients were simple but blended very well. I also had the Mamma which was highly recommended and it did not disappoint. It was light and sweet. I personally am not a fan of heavy cakes. My visit was on a warm day so I was not able to get a table outside, however the inside seating is very charming as well with giant wood beams and simple tables.
A lunch restaurant right in the center of Gamla Stan (The Old Town) with mixed quality on the food components. I loved the basket of bread, the the salad buffet was okay (both are included in the lunch) and the presentation of the food is excellent despite the ingredients not being cooked to order it felt very classy. I had pork loin with fries potato slices and cocktail tomatoes. The cocktail tomatoes were still on the twig, peeled and oven baked with a pinch of sea salt on too a very luxurious detail I never expected at a lunch restaurant! The potato slices, however, were almost raw some so hard they were inedible. This in fact makes the fourth star quite weak. The meat was okay and the sauce was just a little too little. Still, for this price (90 SEK for a lunch) the spacious seatings and good food is hard to beat in Gamla Stan. They also have a range of high quality cakes and fika bread apparently they have Stockholm 's best semla 2015. According to who, I don 't know. I had a Dutch chocolate cake with whipped cream. The cream did NOT come from a can, which I appreciated. The woman behind the counter put an effort into sprinkling some cocoa powder and put a little leaf of some sort on top of the cream so I 'd say this place puts a little extra I to presentation, which is nice.
Tasty fika spot! Some deck seating overlooking the square, and plenty of inside tables. Had some pancakes and it hit the spot. Times visited: 1
