Umi Japanese Steak House - Stockbridge

My experience was absolutely terrible. I ordered food to go, and they told me it would be ready in 15 minutes. However, over an hour later, it still wasn't ready. When I asked to speak to the manager for a refund, they kept saying they couldn't locate the manager. Finally, when my food was brought out, they had only prepared half of my meal and completely omitted the rest. Frustrated, I decided to take my sushi and leave. Once I got home, I discovered the sushi wasn't even sliced and was mostly just a solid block of rice. To top it off, both rolls were missing the eel sauce. This was the worst experience I've ever had here, and I won't be coming back.

I had the eel and avocado sushi roll drizzled with eel sauce, and it was delicious. The young chef showed great skill, even crafting heart-shaped presentations for Valentine's Day. Both the fried dishes and the steak and shrimp were enjoyable as well. For health-conscious diners, the restaurant offers flexibility—you can request oil instead of butter and steamed rice instead of fried rice. I would definitely recommend this place. It is clean and well-maintained, featuring nice decor, a large bar, and TVs that showcase the Super Bowl and other sporting events, even in the kitchen area.

My experience at the restaurant was disappointing. It was excessively hot, not just for me but for others in our group as well. While the chef and the food were quite good, the restroom was in a fairly unpleasant state. The staff was friendly, but clearly overwhelmed. Management needs to address the air conditioning issue and improve the overall cleanliness of the establishment. I also hope they have better luck hiring more staff. This place used to be wonderful, which makes me wonder if it's a reflection of changing times.

It was ok. I was disappointed that the Kani salad didn?t have the Kewpie and Masago in it. The rest was mediocre, and to me not worth the prices at this location.

My husband and I love this place! We truly enjoyed our hibachi dinners and it?s well worth the price. The customer service has always been great as well. Can?t wait to go back!
