We went as we're staying in the area and had heard good things. Overall very happy with our experience with a nice atmosphere and decor. The staff were very friendly. My only slight gripe is that I didn't quite get what I asked for in that o asked for my steak medium rare and it was medium well, so quite far from my preference. I also asked for apple tart with cream and was given ice cream. Neither of these were massive issues just a slight annoyance as the correct orders were on our receipt but had not been followed. Mind, I didn't mention anything at the time so there was no opportunity for the establishment to correct. I didn't mention this because despite being slightly incorrect, the food was still delicious. The steak was very good and would have been amazing if cooked less. The apple tart was loaded with sweet cinnamon and was really delicious.
I visited the Black Bull restaurant after receiving an Itison voucher at Christmas. The hotel was great and the room was excellent, with a comfortable bed. The food in the restaurant was delicious and the atmosphere was nice and relaxed, and very quiet. The breakfast before we left was also excellent. All the staff were extremely friendly, which we really appreciated. It's a community-run establishment and we wish them all the best in the future. There is a lot of history in this place. Thank you to everyone we met at the Black Bull, we will definitely be returning.
An expensive disappointment, the much publicised roast dinner was sparse, dry meat, the only veg were 2/3 carrots/parsnips, dry roast potatoes, poor effort of a Yorkshire pudding, waiting staff inexperienced and unhelpful, we’ve tried before and the food/service has just not improved, other much friendlier pubs nearby with great food/craic, this is just not one of them
Went for a meal at the Black Bull Gartmore. Set in a quaint village in the Trossachs National Park. Meal was fantastic. Had Steak supplied by local award winning butcher : Served by friendly staff. Would highly recommend. We will be back soon.
