La Buca Del Re - STILO

Great location deep into the Stilo old town. Its half house, half grotto, very atmospheric. Staff are very very friendly. It's not a large restaurant with an extensive menu; rather you get what's cooked today. Food is good but not sensational. A nice little discovery in beautiful Stilo.

Very well hidden in stilo, this restaurant served a simple but delicious porcini pasta for lunch. Nothing special, just great food!

Arriving in Stilo hungry and not knowing the place we were glad a local did point out the restaurant (actually, he walked us over! . It 's well hidden but beautiful inside. Apart from us there was just a big Italian family (Sunday lunch! , which obviously added to the atmosphere! Service was very friendly and the food simply gorgeous. Shame we only ordered antipasti since we prefer to eat 'light ' for lunch, but it was a good plate, local food and quite a variety and it was extremely yummy. There was no written menu and the bill (very moderate was just a number written on a piece of paper. Simply great!

After visiting the Catholic of Stylish and therefore walking through the uphill alleys of the town, the appetite did not fail. local in a cave that, it seems, was an old mill. we tried the appetizers with local meats and cheeses, fettuccine and homemade both porcini, eggplant chine (repiene) that brought back to ancient flavors. good price quality ratio. courtesy of the owner who entertained us pleasantly. Very good!
