Service was just ok and they didn't seem overly busy. We had a filet steak and the fish and chips. The steak was very good but my fish was overcooked, fries barely warm and the coleslaw was tasteless. We really like the atmosphere at Danny's and that they have music on the weekends. They also have a lovely patio. We will be back and will try another entree but really wish they would have upgraded the menu.
Oh boy Danny's....what happened? We had such a disappointing meal this past weekend. The Smash burgers totally tasteless, wilty salad, the whole meal was mediocre. We won't go back
The patio was nice. The food was so so. The ribs had a nice dry rub and tasted good. The buger was mediocre, the lettuce and tomato didnt seem fresh, he burger lacked taste, wasnt cooked to order, and the bun was dry. The cole slaw was also quite plain. But, the beer was cold and refreshing.
Upon arrival, we witnessed a frustrated customer because there was an hour limit for brunch. They took their plates away and essentially said, "time's up." We were seated in the tent area, which I hadn’t realized was the only spot designated for brunch service, and this wasn’t mentioned online. The area wasn’t full, yet we were placed at the first table right by the entrance, which felt odd. We sat there for a while without anyone coming to explain the setup. When I asked the waitress, she simply said, "Yeah, it’s a buffet; help yourself." I expected someone to guide us on where to find water, juice, plates, and so forth. Now, onto the food: the breakfast items were on par with a Best Western hotel breakfast—bacon, cubed potatoes, sausage links, scrambled eggs, and biscuits and gravy (the gravy was the only decent part). The lunch selection was slightly better, featuring more homemade dishes. The prime rib was enjoyable, and the desserts were good as well. My girlfriend ordered a mimosa, which cost $10 for a small plastic cup. Every time they cleared our plates, they also took our silverware. As for payment, they required us to include the tip when we paid upfront upon arrival. I don’t understand why we had to pay ahead of time, especially when drinks were charged separately unless we opted for the $20 deal. In total, our bill—which included the tip—came to nearly $300 for four people, with only two of us having one drink each. Just so you know, we chose to leave before the hour was up because the atmosphere and food were quite unappealing. We will not be returning for brunch or any other occasion.
It's been years since we last visited since Chef Todd left, but we decided to give it another try. I ordered the berry salad with chicken and strawberries, dressed in a delicious mango vinaigrette, and it was fantastic. I also had the short rib sandwich, which was equally excellent. My wife enjoyed the seafood stew, which not only smelled incredible but tasted just as good. Our waitress was wonderful, too. The drinks were great, and I can't wait to come back. The new chef is Dave—thanks for a wonderful meal, Dave!
