June 5,2022 First last time!!!To start off we arrived 5:45 pm we seated ourselves, we received our water in a glass when asked for a beverage we received it in a plastic cup (dine in service) we ordered the collard green dip received it 25 minutes later then we placed our order around 6:15pm still waiting on silverware for our appetizer 6:45 still waiting on our meal so I told the waitress just put it in a carry out about 6:57 we just got our food to go (food) turkey chips was dry Mac cheese was bland yams was very tasteless I end up tossing my food we spent $65.00 on food we could not enjoy. During our time there several customers walked out.

At The Soul of Detroit, I had the most delicious supper. I ate the mac n' cheese, candied yams, and giant shrimp! The shrimp had great flavor and was FRESH! The mac n cheese was delicious, and the yams were just the right amount of sweet.

Very lovely and delicious food; it's been a while since there was a sit-down soul food establishment, and the band is just getting going. I tried something new with the jerk chicken, and it was fantastic!

Reviewing the location in the Lakeside Mall food court.It's good! I ordered the wings, with steamed cabbage and coleslaw as sides. It also comes with cornbread. All of it tastes just as good as it smells!Maurice is nice and definitely a hard worker, seems to be back there on his own.It's unfortunate this place doesn't get more business, but if you ever come to Lakeside, this is a must-stop! I'm looking forward to seeing the walk-in Lakeside location open up in September.

The music is good and so is the food the drinks are bomb too it is a $10 cover for each person they don't tell you when entering buttttttt I didn't mind the music and the ambiance was amazing I will return.
