Chicken Chef - Steinbach

I ordered a club sandwich and found that the bacon was undercooked. The fries were average and the coffee tasted stale. The waitress was friendly, but there was a significant water leak in the bathroom which made my feet wet. Overall, it was not a pleasant experience.

We visited the restaurant on a Wednesday afternoon. It was not very busy, but it was clear that they were still cleaning up from the lunch rush and preparing for the evening crowd. The service was friendly, and I ordered a simple cheeseburger. It was delicious.

The owner was just great. We were not from the same address (covid rules) but seated us accordingly apart. Outstanding chicken and the best mashed potatoes and gravy. They also sell Mennonite soups for take out. Chicken Noodle, Summa borshct, etc. A go to place in Steinbach!!!

If you order the taco salad, beware, its more salad then chips. There is also a good chance you will find chicken bones in the chicken meat part of it. They skimp on the toppings such as salsa, and sour cream. The fried chicken... well.. the skin tastes good but the chicken is very dry. Occasionally you will find a moist piece. Don 't bother with paying for the 'wings '. The wings are really wings. More like mini super dried out drumsticks with barely anything on them. Get more meat on a wing then on those things anyday. The sauce doesn 't taste how it supposed to either. The mashed potatoes taste like they have either been prefrozen or boxed mashed potatoes. If you want a meal like this, you can get it for much cheaper by buying frozen freezer burned chicken, boxed potatoes from the dollar store, and cheap chips to add to a salad. I used to love this place... now.. not so much

Come here often. Always will because the food is very delicious Another fave is the soups. Always flavorful and savory .
