The building is a tribute to the Croatians who worked at the Steelton-based Pennsylvania Steel Company, reflecting how our country was built. The club has a nostalgic old-world charm that is hard to come by. Croatian beer is affordable and the food is even more so. Desserts are only $2 and my lamb plate was a steal at $11, considering how delicious everything was. There are often live bands playing Croatian music, creating a welcoming atmosphere for everyone. While the steel factories and many of the people are no longer around, the club offers a nostalgic trip down memory lane with each visit.
This place isn't exactly a restaurant, but during this time of year, it is definitely the best spot for a fish fry. The all-you-can-eat option basically means how much food can you pile onto your plate. Two pieces of fried and broiled fish, one piece of chicken, sides, and more all included in the meal will leave you happily satisfied. This place is actually a Croatian lodge, filled with family and friends creating a strong sense of community. Even as a newcomer, I felt welcomed and accepted by everyone. The lodge stays true to its Croatian roots in everything from the decor to the food to the festivities. Although I missed the Polka Quads, the entertainment from Triple J and Jim Jab was more than enough. I will definitely be returning here next Lent, and this time I'll make sure to arrive early for parking.
