We ordered the steamed mussels appetizer, the Gio salad, and 2 pizzas (Pomodoro Diavola). We had to wait until they opened just to place our order. They open at 5 pm. After ordering we walked in to pickup. They were not at all busy (they had just opened) but they ignored me standing there for my order pick up at the hostess desk. Steadily walking past me just ignoring my presence. I finally got our order and left with it. We dined at our place at OSP. The hot dishes were already getting cold and needed warming up. The mussels were really pretty good. The Gio salad was okay at best but very small for what I paid for it. The pizzas were not bad with the nod going towards the Diavola as the better of the 2 ordered. My immediate impression of the Brick is that this is a restaurant for the entitled diner, the upper class. I got that immediately from the few minutes I stood there just waiting to pick up my order. The ignorance of walking past me countless times I cannot get beyond and because of that I can not recommend this place.
Great pizza, I'm not 100% convinced that it should be $20+ per pizza. But overall, a good ambiance and great pizza.
Menu price on their online site for pizza was $15. Went to pick up I was charged $24. What a rip off. They said just changed prices but forgot to up date their on line site. But reading other reviews, this is quite common with Brick. Stay away.
Upon picking up my togo order, I was told a 20% gratuity was added automatically. Granted, when I sit down and am served, I tip. But for a togo order and without being informed of it beforehand? I won’t be back. Pizza was pretty good, not worth the $25 I spent.
We went on a Saturday night, our last night of a three night stay in Steamboat during what was a very busy, crowded weekend there. We tried to get in to a few restaurants in downtown, but all were full. We found this place online and decided to try it. So glad we did! It was not crowded at all. We got a table on the well-shades patio with a lovely view. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. My friend ordered the Pasta con Vongola. She raved about it for hours. It was the best thing she’d he had a cocktail with lemon cello and basil which she also enjoyed very much, although I don’t remember the name of it. And she had the chocolate peanut butter cake for dessert, which was absolutely decadent. I had the Pesca Primavera. While it was very good, it wasn’t quite as stated on the menu. The menu said it included squash, zucchini, mushrooms and cherry tomatoes with the shrimp. However, what I got was carrots, mushrooms and a green vegetable I think was likely broccolini. I didn’t care for the stalks, but the leafy ends were delicious. The carrots and mushrooms were delicious also, as well as the shrimp, but I did miss the zucchini and tomatoes that were in the description. It was still a very tasty dish. I had an Italian sangria to drink which was delightful. It was nice to be away from the crowds of downtown Steamboat for an evening. I would definitely go back to this restaurant and recommend it wholeheartedly!
