The By And By - Staunton

I recently visited a lovely café that opens early and serves sandwiches all day, much to my son's delight. I enjoyed a deliciously smooth mocha and the banana bread was incredibly soft and moist. I would have happily eaten a second slice!

Cute little place, but oddly laid out. They provide outdoor patio seating that sits below street level resulting in a quiet, relaxing ambience. Everyone enjoyed their food. Simple menu of sandwiches, some made with bagels and soup. I think we would all be happy to eat there again.

I really liked the coffee I had on the outdoor seating area. However, I was a bit let down that my sandwich was made with the end piece of the bread. It was quite tough and I had to eat it open-faced instead.

Although there may be long waits, it is only because this restaurant is popular for its fresh and delicious food, as well as its excellent coffee and tea. As someone who typically orders chai lattes at coffee shops, I can confidently say that this place is in my top 3. Additionally, they offer a selection of beers that are not commonly found in Staunton, which is a major draw for some of my friends who come here specifically for lunch.

Last week ordered a bagel and coffee, then came to pick it up but added a few more items for my kids. I left with what I thought was my order. They had missed the bagel. No problem, so I called and they said come back any day for the bagel. I was too far when I realized. Today went to order more coffee and redeem a bagel that was paid for and forgotten. I was treated like I was lieing and trying to get a free bagel. SMH. I left because of the interrogation and the disbelief. You WAISTED my mornings twice. I won't be back! ? P.s. and the owner was just standing there. You guys get a lot of people who try to scam for free bagels I guess.
