Cracker Barrel - Staunton

Pancakes, sausage, eggs, and hash browns, all served with real maple syrup—at least 55% real, anyway. The classic breakfast items are all prepared exceptionally well. While it may not be the best breakfast I've ever had, it's definitely far from the worst. I can't help but wonder how they manage to make breakfast this consistently good from coast to coast; it feels like it must involve some sort of… magical arts or mystical energy lines on which Cracker Barrel has built its homage to "the old country store." Or maybe it’s just a solid business strategy—what do I know, I’m just a simple country person. Alongside one of their competitors that rules the South with 24-hour food and usually some form of entertainment, this has to be one of the most quintessentially American experiences I can think of. Treat yourself!

The order arrived without any napkins or utensils, making it difficult to eat. There were also no salt, pepper, or butter provided for the biscuits, despite the order being delivered to a hotel. The drink sizes were excessively large, leading to a lot of waste since most people couldn't finish them. Overall, the prices felt quite high compared to dining in at the restaurant.

I did receive the fried apples that I was charged for.

They forgot my grits. Boo hoo! The muffins were dry by everything else was really good.

The food was excellent, and our waitress was the best I've ever encountered! Thank you, Charrise, for being such a fantastic server!
