Basil Forest Ave - Staten Island

I have to say that the food was very fresh. However, I was a bit surprised by the $24 price tag for a salad that I typically pay $12 to $15 for. It was just a basic tossed salad with grilled chicken, which feels a bit excessive in terms of cost. That said, the quality and freshness of the food were definitely commendable.

If they were available to answer the phone, I would like to place an order. However, I'm not sure they are interested in taking my business, and the phone number listed here doesn’t even work.

When I went to pick up my order, I politely asked why there was such a discrepancy in pricing. I was told that they were no longer honoring the online prices. However, when I looked at the menu attached to my bag, I saw that the prices listed were $18.64 for each pasta dish, totaling $37.82. This was not only higher than what I saw online, but it was also different from what I was charged over the phone. Having multiple prices for the same items is unacceptable. I understand small price increases, but this is just outrageous. I would recommend avoiding this restaurant altogether unless they want to face serious backlash!

I heard great things about this place, so I wanted to try it. I had been craving shrimp parm, so I decided to check them out. I ordered the calamari (ok), shrimp parm with linguine (ok), the cheesesteak egg roll (wasn't a fan), and a personal cheese pizza (very good). If I was to ever go back, I would just stick with the pizza.
