Contribuiți la feedbackI have wanted to try a banh xeo ever since watching Jet Tila make one on The Food Network. I love Vietnamese food so what would a crepe with it be like? Banh Xeo Boys did not disappoint. Located in the Rodeo 39 market with mostly food businesses, the crepe was large, crispy, and a beautiful bright yellow from the tumeric. I ordered the (ground) Chicken and Shrimp. The Swimming Pig Pork Belly and Shrimp is the most popular banh xeo. Service was good and my order was ready in the 10 minutes I was told to expect it. The chicken was seasoned lightly and complimented well by the fresh ingredients bean sprouts, lettuce leaves, mint, cilantro, pickled daikon and carrots, and minced garlic with spicy peppers. The produce is boxed separately with the fish sauce so you can customize each bite. Next time I would ask for more mint. That with the sauce and crunchy textures tasted amazing! The banh xeo is not served with rice paper so you can eat it like lettuce wraps. I didn't care that it's standing only to eat in their space since Rodeo 39 has so much indoor and outdoor seating but why do you only offer forks? Please get knives so people can cut into their crepe and other fillings and eat without a hassle. I doubt the average person carries a Swiss army knife and using two forks isn't a good option. I'm not in the area often but I would definitely go back. It's a little pricey for about $15 per crepe, but I got almost 2 meals from one banh xeo.
Really very good. Best bahn xeo I've had since saigon/hochi minh. I've tried a few places in garden grove and not quite as good as this place. Also the sauce that comes with the bahn xeo is clearly made with Crack cocaine. Only bad thing about this place is that they haven't opened a place next to my house
I actually really enjoy their banh xeo, especially the lonely fisherman. However, what I don 't appreciate is how they advertise happy hour banh xeo for $10 on their Instagram from 2-5 on weekdays and do not honor it once you 've ordered. The cashier told me we don 't do it anymore when I asked her about it, but I continue to see them advertising it on their IG. After the first time it happened, I gave them the benefit of the doubt because I figured I 'd still support a small business. But now that it 's happened twice, I feel like it 's really deceptive and will not be returning.
Tl;dr- Probably the worst place in rodeo to eat at- took 20 mins to get my food, shitty workers with attitude and tipping defaults to 18% minimum. I knew something was off when I made eye contact with the person that was supposed to take my order twice while she was in the back and she didn 't say anything like I 'll be right there or please order online . It took maybe 2-3mins until she finally took my order, barely saying anything other than it 'll be 10-15mins . I come back in 12mins but I end up waiting there for at least 20 until they bring something out that wasn 't even my full order. After finally getting my order and getting to take a bite, it 's really just a super crispy banh xeo. If anything maybe too crispy and not authentic enough. Lacking filling for something that 's pretty pricey and missing bean sprouts. Veggies were fresh and fish sauce was great but that 's really it. Food was meh and expensive and having to tip 18% rubbed me the wrong way for shitty attitudes. If you 're here with friends and wanna eat at the same time, grab food at another place, if you got 45mins to kill, this is your place although if you 've got time to kill, you gotta have to kill as well bc you 're gonna need to order something else before your food will be ready.
I would love to give you guys Zero . 35 mins for a pricey mini Banh Xeo which cost $16. The cashier was nice enough to say Sorry, i hope everything is okay . I give her more credit than your Banh Xeo quality. Why should i waste my time to go back ?
