Contribuiți la feedbackDuring my visit to London, some local friends took me out for a few drinks. Despite the rain outside, we managed to arrive at 8:30 a.m. and were surprised to find the place nearly full. Luckily, we found a spot near the bar at a high table and ordered a few J2O juices, Smirnoff White, and WKD. The atmosphere and decor of the venue were intriguing, with hip hop music playing and people socializing with friends. The first floor catered more to those looking to eat and drink, and it was very well designed, making great use of the space. The menu was one of the most exciting I’ve encountered, featuring an extensive fusion of alcoholic beverages, including an array of beers and cocktails. It was definitely a place for drinks, and I had a fantastic time!
Without being overly preachy, let me highlight what makes this pub special: first, the prices are incredibly reasonable, typical of a Wetherspoons establishment, allowing you to enjoy a hearty meal and a drink for under ten pounds. The service is quick, thanks to friendly and laid-back staff, and they've recently added a beer garden to make the most of sunny days (when we have them!). In fact, the food is both generous and satisfying, with a diverse menu that includes breakfast, lunch, and desserts. There are also various deals throughout the week that offer great value, such as one time when my friend snagged a plate of fish, chips, and peas for just £3! Be sure to try the surprisingly spicy sweet chili noodles and the consistently excellent chips, which always come with a generous portion. The George also features a massive mixed meat grill that, while delicious, may come with a hefty price tag. The atmosphere is lively on Friday and Saturday nights, making it a fantastic place to be. I often run into old friends there, and everyone who steps into The George seems to embrace the community spirit. Cheers!
Of course, the affordable Wetherspoon prices are an added bonus, and The George is no exception. I still get a kick out of being able to buy a round of drinks for under ten pounds. The relaxing beer garden makes enjoying these budget-friendly drinks even more delightful. To truly experience The George, I recommend visiting on festive evenings. The pub is packed, often with a queue out the front, and everyone is in high spirits as they countdown to Christmas—it's the perfect way to kick off the holiday season. The bar staff are always welcoming and friendly, although they do seem to have a tendency to hire rather intimidating bouncers.
Friendly staff, super busy down, up is much quieter and more beautiful. the only part from above is that they close the bar early, which means that everyone has to crash down, which ruins the night something. eating is also very nice. the beverage menu must be more diverse and must introduce a cocktail menu, as this would stimulate customers and sales. the furniture is comfortable, but the chairs have to be re-padded, as they become a bit threadable at places. good value for money.
Very nice atmosphere, good food and all for s fraction of the price of most pubs in the area. Student friendly, staff were welcoming and a really good selection of food and drink. Would recommend a visit.
