Contribuiți la feedbackI have been to this restaurant many times over the years, it is run by one of the most welcoming and friendly families and has been their family home for generations. The Chef, Andre has a real flair for making traditional swiss alpine food with a twist. And beyond the ever reliable menu, you have one of the best views in the valley, I would suggest going around sunset to get the real spectacle of the sun disappearing over the mountains. Beyond that, the chef is also a musician and will often play a variety of instruments including, the guitar, accordion, and even the saw!
I went here with my family to have lunch on the Swiss National Day, 1st. August. It was a convivial atmosphere and there was an accordion band, an alp horn player and a silver band providing entertainment. The restaurant is a wooden chalet with spectacular views of the Simmental, and has seating indoors and outdoors. It is a good place to stop if you are a cyclist or hiker coming up from the valley floor, but is also fine if you just want to drive up in your car. The access road is single track, but tarmac and with passing places. The food is typically Swiss local sausages, veal or pork cutlets, Wiener schnitzel, rösti, chips etc. and with lots of vegetable garnishes, including half a peach or pear with whipped cream! The service is friendly, and the chef came out to shake hands with everybody at the end of the service. The toilets are clean and modern and there is a baby changing table. Main courses cost about CHF 18 25, which is average for the region, and the portions are generous.
This is a nice place run by decent people with a good terrace. The food is above average for a ski restaurant (i.e. perfectly adequate) and some dishes are good. You can have your skis serviced while you eat.
