The Rooftop At Ocean Lodge - St. Simons

To be clear, my experience is with the roof top restaurant and the service I received on my last two visits. Outstanding. The team is new (believed to be under new ownership or management) but my experience on both visits were great. The views are about the best for St Simons Island ... and the happy hour prices cannot be beat. Regardless of any past experiences, lighten up and give them another try. Bartender is very willing to accommodate anything he has access to for making you the perfect cocktail. The appetizers are perfect and the burger is great. YOU cannot beat the prices, the view, and the service. What more can you expect. The world needs to just relax and stop being so critical and mean. Enjoy it, be glad you're on the island .... good grief enjoy it. I will be back ... THANK YOU Ocean Lodge Restaurant staff!

This is an amazing resort. The beach is a short walk across a 2 lane street that's not too busy. The balcony is perfect for viewing the beach. There are properties all around, but it absolutely doesn't seem like it.The island seafood is absolutely worth going out every day. And, you get a lot for the price.The staff is also great. Deonte(bartender) made us amazing drinks when we asked for him to just put together something different. Star(hotel staff) made sure we had everything we needed without being intrusive. Toney(hotel staff) personally took the time to help me to the car. You could walk to the many local shops but driving is best because you will have bags. There is a pier where you can bring the setup and just fish. it even has benches to sit on. They are within walking distance of each other for the family that has shoppers and fishermen to still be in a safe distance from each other. I did feel safe being alone and walking to those shops.

My wife and I have been vacationing at the resort for several years. This trip was by far the very best. It starts with Chef/Manager Matt. He sets a wonderful example for his employees… friendly, helpful, enthusiastic and a plethora of positive attributes. The much needed improvements in the hotel were everywhere: the front desk, the rooftop bar/restaurant , overall cleanliness plus a wonderful staff. Loved the front desk ladies, the maintenance workers, servers, maids and our bartender. Great location. Thank you, Matt and too many friends to list.

Excellent experience! Room was very nice, only could use a little maintenance but extremely comfortable and roomy. Service was the best! Staff is very friendly and helpful!

Great place to stay. Amy and Kim and the others took care of us. Great bfast selection. Jimmy Dean Biscuits. Great access to the beach. Beach chairs and umbrellas for free and towels. good parking under. walking distance to good food. We did not get to try the 5th floor food.
