Crab Shack - St. Petersburg

The worn exterior with nets and oars, signage boasting "smoked fish, fresh crabs, and their specialties" gives a good idea of what to expect inside.

Before visiting this restaurant, please read this entire post. I do not recommend paying over $100 to dine with a large, flying cockroach.

During my weekend trip to St. Petersburg, I was craving crab legs since I now live in Denver. It was my last night and I had to satisfy my craving.

The first time here. found by coincidence to drive a day and stopped tonight. wow, so good! it was super busy, and when we were gone, there were still people waiting outside. the waiting time is not long, however, and everyone waiting outside has drinks and has a good time. it looks like a hole in the wall dive from outside, but these always seem to be the best places! highly recommended!

Wow this place was amazing!! Great food, amazing service and such a cute environment! Paula was incredible and extremely knowledgeable too. We had soooo many questions about items on the menu, and she knew everything thru and thru. Not to mention she was just the biggest sweetheart ever! The whole team there is great. All the waitress help each other. You can tell they are little family and have a lot of pride in restaurant and food. Here from illinois visiting friends that live in the area and we plan to make this a Go to Spot now.
