Truc Lam - St. Louis

The food here is excellent! We've tried their Bo bun hue, pho, fried rice, rice rolls, and banh mi, and the soups were particularly outstanding. In fact, we returned two days in a row. The only downside to our experience was the incredibly long wait. We visited right after a holiday and ended up waiting three hours for the pho. However, it was delicious enough that we decided to come back the next day to sample more dishes. Keep in mind that it's a very small place, with just one waiter and a compact kitchen.

I was recommended this place by a friend for authentic Vietnamese cuisine, and it certainly didn’t disappoint. This might be one of the best bowls of pho I've ever had. The spring rolls were incredible as well, and they offered a great variety. Food: 5/5

A gem hidden away in an unassuming corner, Truc Lam has some of the best Vietnamese food in town! Their pho is a bowl of comfort warm and flavorful. Their spicy beef with lemongrass is one of my favorites. Thin slices of beef are sautéed in a slightly spicy and herbal sauce. Be sure to pair them with a Vietnamese iced coffee or try the truc lam che (sweet red beans with coconut drink).

This little hole in the wall is a hidden treasure! The food is simply outstanding and the service is quick and friendly. Don't come here expecting fine dining, come expecting delicious food.

I was one of just two people in the restaurant but the only person there the only gentleman working there seem very anxious and irritated that I ordered quickly and did not seem to welcome any questions about the menu. Want to ask about a Vietnamese dish right head elsewhere he informed me that wasn't really Vietnamese that was Thai food. His entire demeanor seemed unfriendly and hurried. The prices seem very outrageous for the food I received with just a drink and a dish I was at a $25 tab and I've had much better food Vietnamese food elsewhere. I wouldn't be back to this place if you're lacking in customers I would think you would try to Excel and customer service and that just is not the case here.
