The Wee Chief - St Kilda

We absolutely adored our experience at the Wee Chief during our last trip to Melbourne in December. It was so amazing that we decided to return when we were back in Melbourne in February, and once again, we were not let down! The quality of the food was just as excellent as our previous visit. The carbonara was outstanding for a more casual pub-style restaurant, and the Irish parma was absolutely delicious - the sauce was exceptional. The service was fantastic and the atmosphere was particularly enjoyable, especially with live music playing during our visit (on a Sunday night).

I was initially hesitant about this restaurant when I first entered because it seemed empty. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the end of the night. The food, in a pub style, was delicious and impressed me. The staff was very welcoming and the live acoustic music created a fantastic ambiance. To improve, I have two suggestions that would make this place worthy of a 5-star rating. Firstly, the lighting was too bright and could be dimmed a bit. Secondly, it would be beneficial to have a healthy option on the menu for those who prefer clean eating, as well as a vegetarian option. My vegan friend had difficulty finding suitable choices to eat here, so that could be something to consider. Overall, thank you for a wonderful evening!

We had a great dining experience during a recent trip to Melbourne. We started off with the squid for our appetizer and I ordered the carbonara while my partner tried the Irish parma. The curry sauce on the parma was fantastic. The service was excellent and the ambience of the restaurant was enjoyable, with a separate bar and dining area. Unfortunately, we missed out on a live band playing the next day as we were flying home. We will definitely be visiting again when we return to Melbourne in February.

I've now had several lovely meals at The Wee Chief. The chicken parma is one of the best you can get (and only $12 on a Wednesday). Their new menu is great, and has bangers and mash which was delicious! Love the happy hour, pints for $5.50 - amazing!Can't wait to return again! :)

For any Irish people missing good Irish tasting food or anybody looking for a nice meal the wee chief is a great place to go. The meal portions are generous and fairly priced. And whether it is packed with people or quiet the atmosphere is excellent.
