The Dick Whittington Tavern - St Kilda

<br/ 3.8<br/ <br/ The Dick Whittington known as The Dick” by locals is a classic local watering hole in Chapel St. Twosheds sauntered past here on a Saturday and decided to imbibe a Riesling. Entering the main bar, we were completely shocked at how packed it was. Full of people watching the races on large TVs on the wall. Fantastic atmosphere. The main dining room has a lovely feel to it also. With a function room upstairs, pokies out the back, and a take away bottle shop on the North side, this place has it all. The main bar also has a great open fire. We had a look at the menu and will come back to eat. <br/ <br/ 3.8

Classy Tavern or Pub in a renovated Art Deco building.<br/ <br/ Not the most refined food from Entree (humongous shared platter) to Mains, however enjoyable easy meals, about 7/10.<br/ <br/ Great friendly attentive service, sedated vibrant atmosphere in the dining area, not so in the gaming room. <br/ <br/ Enjoyable easy Friday dinner. Dropped in with some friends whilst in the area. The venue is pretty nice and the service wasn't bad. Loved our drinks and the nibbles went down well.

Go here a lot as it's pretty much across the road the meals in the sports bar section are well priced and fairly good.. the bistro is a little bit more expensive and have found the food to be a little hit and miss after dining here numerous times I think they should change the menu a bit more often also. The bottle shop is great with awesome staff very friendly and pretty good prices and lots of variety.

Okay, First thing 's first. Yes, the Dick Whittington Tavern is colloquially known as 'The Dick ', and yes, their attached bottle shop trades under the name 'The Dick Liquor '. Have a laugh, get it out of your system now. We 've got serious parma business to discuss. . The Dick has been on our list for a while now, I think it was originally recommended by a friend a good 3 4 years ago and has been stuck on our list since then, but after yet another recommendation to give it a crack we could put it off no longer and headed down to the St. Kilda end of Chapel St.
