Contribuiți la feedbackIt is a regular spot for us...simple reason? Food is spot on all the time. We have eaten in and do takeaway. Can not fault either, so definitely try both. We are creatures of old habits...butter chicken, rice, rita and naan. Simlpy enjoy!
Realy excited to visit what looke a full up resturaunt with great ambience and excellent atmospere.I ordered The butter chicken, and another dish with that was made from cheese and some nann bread.Alas the Butter chicken was very watery and pretty tastlessas was the cheese dish. worst part was the meal was bit on the expensive side. shame though they must have had an off nght. resturaunt was packed and they offer a great variety of different beers. i will try this agin as everyone looked so happy.
Fantastic Indian food! Fresh, flavorful! Go with at least 3 people and do the 4 or 6 person menu. You'll get a series of Tapas-style courses, one more delicious than the next. It's BYOB, so grab a bottle from the market around the corner. ( They will chill it for you.). Acoustics are a bit loud, but you'll spend more time wanting to eat than to talk because it's so delicious! After dinner, go walk the pier and see the wild penguins coming in to nest in the rocks for the night.
Went here as a recommendation from a friend. It was pretty good. The naan bread was delicious, the garlic one especially, one of the highlights for me.I would prefer if there was more chicken options on the menu. I went with the butter chicken the only one that was from the pot. It was nice, wouldn't say it was the best I've ever had though.I would go again, there was a few dishes coming out to other tables that looked amazing. So I will definitely be back!
We were totally duped by the good reviews of Babuji and it was these good reviewswhich brought us to dine there.Don't expect good Indian food - unless you know precious little about THE REAL THING.The tandoori prawns were impressively large (unshelled) but the masala marinade had not been properly cooked and there is nothing worse than the the taste of raw masala. The prawns had a strange taste and texture. The lamb slices had an awful under taste and the slices were not helped by the strange mayo like blob of white sauce with some black ground spices in it. There were more travesties but the fish curry was the worst we have ever had anywhere !Scrappy bits of white fish in thick icky coconut milk, with a vast amount of tumeric thrown in to give it a violent yellow colour. The tumeric was not cooked and tasted like raw tumeric - yuk! The garnish was also a disgrace - thick slices of raw red and green capsicum on the violet yellow ? Fabulous for the digestion - not!As for the rice? That had not been cooked or rinsed properly - the taste of raw starch permeated the rice. The rasmalai was inedible and the kulfi ? well, who would know what a real kulfitastes like . Unfortunately we do.If you know nothing of about good Indian food you will really enjoy Babuji, otherwiseyou may be wondering why this restaurant has so many good reviews. p.s. The plain naans were almost like salada biscuits.
