Las Tapas - St Kilda (VIC)

I really enjoyed this restaurant, especially thanks to the exceptional host. The food was also amazing! I highly recommend visiting this place for a lovely evening out.

This is would be my second time there mainly due to my experience with the food previously. I could not fault the food, it 's really some of the best tapas I have had in Melbourne. Unfortunately the service is truly disappointing. The waitress is extremely rude and aggressive. In fact I have have dined in so many places and have never experienced this before. Initially we asked for more bread and she just told us a big NO and I thought perhaps it was the language differences as it wa a clear English is not her first language. My friend and I whom I brought here after suggesting the food is amazing were a little taken back. We brushed it off. At the end after the meal we asked for a split bill. I asked her how much for us each; The waitress comment was can you just do the calculations yourself as that 's the least you can do as we don 't split bills and I 'm doing you a favour . My question is who talks this ways to customers? It 's extremely rude and confronting. One should not be in hospitality if you don 't have the basic courtesy or pleasantries. I went on to say it 's not hard and she continued to speak over me saying she does not have a calculator and to just do it and just chucked the machine and left me and my fried. We both tapped the card, shocked and appalled at the reaction. She came back soon after grabbed the card machine and gave us a trite remark to come again. I told her this is not how you speak to your customers, it 's your job to calculate the difference and we will not come again politely. She went on to aggressively speak over us and was loud enough that the other patrons could hear her. She went in to chastise is by saying she doesn 't need us to come again anyways. This is unacceptable and honestly tainted the whole experience for us. We are so let down, just shocked at the blatant disrespect and rude behaviour. I 'm sorry this is not something I have ever seen in the 36 years of my life dining out. One can have a bad day but you should never treat your customers or speak to another that way.

The delicious food at this restaurant is bursting with authentic flavors.

We have frequented this venue on many occasions. Unfortunately this time around, the chorizo wasn't cooked throughout, and the 5 tiny garlic prawns (for $25! were surprisingly tasteless.
