Mcalister's Deli - St Joseph

I like to take my mom (81) here because she enjoys the freshness of the food and really enjoys their chopped salad. She's also a fan of their sweet tea. I personally love that they hire friendly people who may not be able to find work elsewhere due to special needs. They contribute so much to experience with a welcoming smile and ability to make a simple lunch into moments of joy.

I have always enjoyed eating here. But today the chicken and dumpling soup was way over cooked. The salad didn’t have everything it was supposed to have in it and the lady at the cash register was not in a good mood. We were on a lunch hour and our food got to all of us very quickly. It wasn’t bad but it is not the quality I’m used to when I eat at this restaurant.

Worst Caesar salad I ever had. Not fresh. As you can see in the photo there is a lot of lettuce turning brown. First and last time here!

The BEST part of my awful experience is the table was clean. Girl who waited on me acted like she'd rather have a root canal done than wait on me. Threw half my salad away, ROTTEN lettuce. See photos. Look appealing?

Glad to see this place is running much better than it was a little over a year ago! The service seem mostly new, but they did well. The food was good and the tea was great (I got to buy a whole gallon of it! . Our meals were good. I would recommend!
